ic number for a t flipflop and an external clock

heyy ppl
i need a t flipflop and an external clock ic for my digital logic project

it will be helpful if anyoen can tell me the ic number for a t flipflop and an external clock ic number for a counter project (it actually counts the number of ppl entering a room)

CD4013 or 74HC74, and for external clock use gate?
You need monostable flipflop.
And what type of a counter you going to use ?

can you explain me the external clock part??
i was going to use a 555 timer ic will that work with a monostable t flipflop?? and how do we build/use the external with gate ??

m not using any counter ic..m making it using t flipflops and combinational logic ....

If you want to use only T Flip Flops, you can use the 7473 JK-FF, and short-circuit the J and K inputs together. I don't think an actual T-FF exists as a stand-alone.
Of course, the afforementioned IC belongs to the 74XX family which operates at 5V dc and is fairly old. It copes well with medium frequencieds and almost all school projects. Hope that suits you.
