I to V converter & Vice Versa

    What is the principle of working of I to V converter and vice versa and in what applications are they used..

    The application that immediately comes to mind is the receiver for a sensor giving a current output of 4 to 20mA.

    The current is passed through a resistor to give a voltage proportional to the current. That voltage is then amplified as required to feed the measuring device - essentially a voltmeter.
