I need to find a regulator IC for a DC circuit. LM317 is ideal for this but my in-put voltage goes up to 100V sometimes. so LM317 cant be used for this because it’s working voltage is 4-40V. Please tell me suitable regulator IC which works just as the LM317 for this circuit.

 

If the 100V are transient spikes you can use a resistor/zener in front of the LM317 to clean it up.

if so can I use TL783 instead of LH317 without changing other components in my circuit?
(can I replace blindly ?)
