Hello dear friends,

I am an engineering intern in Germnay .I am working with some friends on the indcution cooking project but I don't have any experience about induction cooking.. I am always reading something but I couldn't understand at all because of lack of knowledge about induction cooking..

I do not understand what is ZVS ,what is logic of ZVS?
I do not understand exactly what is PWM? normally we are using a 555 IC for creating square wave but just with a pulse voltage we can create square wave.. Logic of PWM is "creating square wave"?? or another thing?

And What is LC resonance cicuit exactly? Why I use it? How can I use it with an IGBT?

Please reveal me this things.. I need a basic knowledge about this.. =(

Best regards...

I wasn't familiar with induction cooking; only somewhat familiar with using induction heating for soldering.

Here is a helpful Wikipedia article to give you some ideas:

ZVS means "Zero Volt Switching". If a MOSFET or IGBT is switched when the voltage across it is zero, there is virtually no power dissipation in the device.
Here is an application note from Intersil that describes some of the difficulties involved in applying ZVS to a full H-bridge:

PWM means Pulse Width Modulation. It basically means that a pulse occurs at the same time (pulse repetition time), but the ratio of ON time to OFF time can be changed.

LC means a circuit that has an L, or inductor, and a C, or capacitor.
Capacitors are described in our E-book, beginning in DC chapter 13:
http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_1/chpt_13/index.html
Inductors are described in DC chapter 15:
http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_1/chpt_15/index.html
RC and LR circuits are covered in DC chapter 16:
http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_1/chpt_16/index.html
RLC circuits are covered in AC chapter 5:
http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_2/chpt_5/index.html
Resonance is covered in AC chapter 6:
http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_2/chpt_6/index.html

An LC resonant circuit is used for efficiency's sake, and goes back to the ZVS topic.
You have a lot of reading to do before getting to the point where you would understand how to use an IGBT with a resonant LC circuit.
