its rated at 5 amps. I just need something that draws 6 amps maybe? that is small and can be easily added to the fuse terminals.

You also have to factor in ambient temperature. At 25C, they recommend derating by 25%.

 

Its basically a fuse that acts as a circuit breaker

So if using it on house hold power at 120v Im assuming I need something that draws maybe 700Watts to get it to trip.

You should not be working with line voltage.

 

just looking for a way to test it, if you have better ideas i'm all for them.

 

Would linking it to a car battery work? As in wire from positive to fuse, then wire to negative to fuse?
