Can someone please tell me what state an output pin would be in on the HT12D decoder after the corresponding data pin is grounded on the encoder?

I mean, if D8 on the encoder is grounded, what state is D8 at on the decoder?

I'm not sure what the description is saying on the Pin Description table, for the decoder, where it says, regarding D8-D11, "Output data pins, power-on state is low."

Does D8 go high, or low when D8 on the encoder is grounded?

Assuming HT12A connects to a Tx and HT12D to a Rx.

I think this diagram shows that if D8 were grounded on the HT12A, D8 on the HT12D goes Hi.

So, you are normally expected to use the CMOS OUT pins on HT12D (D8-D11) as Source, and not Sink?
