do you use a microscope ?

i've been using a loupe with little success as they have a thin layer of green epoxy over them and even 1500 wet and dry doesn't seem to help much.

is there a way to tell from an incomplete part of the ic code. i've made out 3 1/2 of the 7 ic's so far.

2 IR2106's, 1 phillips 14 pin HEF40106BT another phillips 14 pin that is so hard to read I can only make out REF4883 but the R and 3 might not be correct.

then another 3 still undiscovered. making it tricky to decipher the circuit.

get a eye glass and use meths on the ic to clean it and have a good peep, you should be able to make out the name under light.

 

What is, "meths"? Methyl alcohol? Methyl ethyl ketone? Methamphetamine?

 

I can't get meth anymore since the police raided the local lab.

I imagine Toffe_Pie is from the UK where "meths" is short for "methylated spirit" aka denatured alcohol.

denatured alcohol = ethyl alcohol with a poison in it.
the phrase, "methylated spirits" suggests that the poison is methyl alcohol.

 

I've always wondered how you "denature" something by using something else that is just as "natural" as the thing being "denatured" with it.
