How to make a 555 timer control a relay?

Hey guys,

For my project, I have made a turn signal-like flashing circuit. It runs on 12 volts, and has 4 LEDs that fill up like a loading bar when 12 volts is applied. It clears out when no voltage is there. That's what makes it look like a turn signal. So what needs to happen is I need to make another 555 control a relay that turns that circuit on and off, making it look like a turn signal . If someone could link me to a schematic, that would be great. Thanks!

Not sure what your after, but you can use pin 2 and 6 from the 555 as an analog signal, it is a ramp.

I have several 555 sources in my blog. I am one of the 555 experts around here. Show us your schematic.

Maybe you don't need a relay on your circuit.
You only add a NE555 Astable Oscilltor in front of your circuit, the NE555 will output a Square wave 0V and 12V(around), it can be drive your circuit.

You can adjust R2 value to match your need.
