hello guys,i am a newbie to 8051.My question is about how we should connect ic to 8051 because as you know ,direct connect 8051 to desktop will burn it off.So could you guys please tell me how to connect it ???
Beside that could you also tell what is the name of the connector of desktop to ic,ic itself and lastly ic to 8051 ???
(the name of the wire that connect them to together)

 

We need more information. What is the IC? If it is a logic IC, there may be no problem.

- what is the "desktop'? It is somewhat common to make direct connections between devices like logic IC's and microprocessors by traces on a printed circuit board.

 

the desktop is referring to personal computer or PC

 

I am at a loss to see how that applies to connecting an 8051 microcontroller to an IC. What is the IC? Why is there a PC involved?

 

If you have to connect 8051 to PC,
then you can use MAX232
and then send/receive data using serial communication
