i in the middle of constructing seedling diameter measurement using application of infrared. basiclly 1 object will pass the IR.here, IR will sense signal and send it to pc. but signal are in analog, so pic 16f877a will convert it to digital using ADC. the data will be send to max232. from max232 to pc, i dunno what to used?my friend suggest me using the db9-male in order to send the data to pc. but when i look at the pc, there were db-15. how could i send the data to pc?
using db-9 or db-15?

The 15-db port on a PC is most times the gameport.

now i'm decide to use the db-9 because this morning i found the circuit of usb to rs232 converter. in this circuit db9 female will connect to max 213 and ft232 and the goes to usb.the problem here is, i can't find a sample circuit that will connect from max232 to db9 male. all my searching show circuit max232 connect to db9 female.plz. help me..
