Anyone here know how to add a function to power on the CPU using a relay.
Are you actually refering CPU as a "PC"?

That should be easy, Just connect the N.O. contacts of the relay in parallel with the "power on" button on the front panel for 1 seconds. But how do you turn on the relay?

as asked already, what is the purpose of this?
it can't be security (unless this security inventor is a complete idiot) because killing power to usb hub accomplishes nothing - one can simply get rid of hub and connect keyboard and mouse directy.

I've seen a key lock system or vending system for public kiosks where the PC and monitor is in an enclosure and keyboard/mouse is accessible. They wanted the live video and other on-screen data to be visible so "locking" the desktop was not possible.

What I an trying to say is, it is not necessarily an idiotic idea.
