How does the TLP 434 transmitter work with my arduino board

Yes. My project here is actually about after the smoke detector sensed smoke, it will send a signal to my arduino board and then make my transmitter transmit a signal to the receiver part. and a buzzer will sound off.(not sending msg) I did use the virtualwire lib and use the codes, but it still could'nt work. The datasheet says that the transmitter needed some code input to make it work. so i was thinking what code could it be?
