Bought a bunch of led panels and built 'em a box! Would be nice to know what you think...

It's amateurly constructed so if you actually check out the design notes on the wiki - have mercy :D

Video here, has wiki(project info)-link in description:

So, it's a computer (to be used for gaming mostly) based around the eZ80F91 from Zilog and an EP2C8 from Altera to handle graphics and audio.

It is built into an rgb led matrix that is used as the monitor, featuring the IMMENSE resolution of 64x48 pixels  and 18 bit color depth.

The audio core is not an exact replica of the Amiga 500's, but it'ss designed to be compatible, and now plays ProTracker MODs without conversion.

So... yeah... that's a bout it - yet another useless gadget just for fun
It's all open source and hardware in the hopes that it will be inspiring and helpful to other hobbyists...

Please read the rules of the Completed Projects forum.

When posting a project please include the following information:

  1. A clear title that describes the project appended by the word 'Project:', for example "Project: 555 Audio Oscillator".
  2. A list of parts, equipment, software used.
  3. Details of any theory, references or information that may be applicable.
  4. Any schematics, source code, etc.
  5. A short description of what to do.
  6. In the interests of manageability and security, project files/code/schematics must be locally stored. Links may be used to provide supplementary information, however they must not provide the substance of the project.
This project has sat in limbo basically because it didn't meet the above requirements. If you want to resubmit this entry please rework the entry to meet the requirements, then drop one of the moderators a PM pointing to it. If it is acceptable a moderator can move it back to the Completed Projects forum and clean up notices and suggestions (making them invisible).

Links are not plans. All plans, schematics, pictures must be hosted locally.

I did resubmit it shortly after the first post and I did include everything the second time around. Did it not make it through?
