Hi All,

In the schematic of the voltage regulator that I've got, it uses the IC Model LM317. Before i put it into work, i want to simulate it first and I'm using the LTspiceIV. But I can't seem to find the component in the library and of course, to make a new component (IC) I would know how to do that.

Does anybody know where I can download list of components available in the market so I can use it with the LTspiceIV.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks.. :)

You don't really need to simulate it, it is a simple circuit.

Have a look in its datasheet here to find the appropriate circuit for you.

Thank you both for your help.

I'm a little bit scared when it comes to AC, so I wud just want to simulate it to see how it works. Hahaha..

Thanks guys..

First, you need to step down the AC voltage, then rectify it, filter it and then use the LM317 to regulate the voltage.

Give more information of what you want to do.

yeah i hope you are rectifying it before the LM317. Otherwise the circuit wont work. Keep in mind that the output voltage of the rectifying section needs to provide a voltage higher then the regulated voltage of the LM317.
