I really need help understanding this circuit. I just don't get it

The fella's in my year have all tried to figure it out but they just don't get it either!

What part did you not understand?

Divide the circuit in two parts, you can replace the voltage follower on the left with a variable voltage source if that simplifies things for you. So the only thing to analyze is the right opamp and the two resistors around it.

Ask yourself what the resistors from output to + input does when applying different voltage levels on the 15k resistor. You could make a table with different voltage values...

Ah I'm not too sure what the buffer does in the circuit or what the 2k resistor near the potentiometer does?

I kinda know how schmitt trigger works. Also PRAONDEVOU I don't know what a voltage follower is, could you explain this to me please?
