Help to Identify this IC Chip

Thank you Mr. Chips. Is there any way to read and copy the programming to another chip? The chip is on a board that runs an ultrasonic transducer.

Me neither, but he DID say "such as."

The schematic looks like a 555 timer to me.
True.

The reason I knew it wasn't something like a 555 was because of the pin numbers and connections. None of the pin numbers would match the components connected to them if it was a 555 timer.

When it is sold as seen here, what you want is probably illegal.

A copy protection bit does not only have the purpose to prevent actual copying. It also clearly makes any such attempt or action illegal.
