    HI everyone,
Does anyone know what IC this is? I tried looking up the numbers but to no avail.

    Thanks.

This is a Microchip microcontroller such as a PIC12F508-I/P which has been programmed for a specific application.

Thank you Mr. Chips. Is there any way to read and copy the programming to another chip? The chip is on a board that runs an ultrasonic transducer.

    Thanks

How can you tell? I can't read the part numbers.

Me neither, but he DID say "such as."

The schematic looks like a 555 timer to me.

    True.

The reason I knew it wasn't something like a 555 was because of the pin numbers and connections. None of the pin numbers would match the components connected to them if it was a 555 timer.

Do some reverse engineering. If you had to create such a function which chip would you use?

When it is sold as seen here, what you want is probably illegal.

A copy protection bit does not only have the purpose to prevent actual copying. It also clearly makes any such attempt or action illegal.
