I have a nearly new benchtop sander with a 370watt 240volt induction motor. A while ago it stopped working and an electronics friend diagnosed that the capacitor had failed. I obtained a new (matching) capacitor and after it was refitted, the motor ran but the capacitor became VERY hot. My friend cannot remember whether he's got the connections correct. What process should I use to determine which wore goes where please ... help?
