That is one of the reasons I'm not doing equipment repairs anymore. Too many IC's became obsolete, and are only available through warehouse operations that require a minimum of $500 or up for the old parts they have in stock.

You may have some luck on Ebay - a lot of strange stuff shows up there.

Box stores are letting the public select upgrade on equipment that goes bad,they do not ship replacement parts.Seem to be cheaper to offer update than stock parts.I've seen this happen on a number of famous american brands now made in other countries.You can't help a friend if it requires parts.This goes back years,and will
get worse with companies folding like flys.Your friend thinks less of your ability
by turning them down,like you have this title and you don't know how.That hidden
factor of letting friend know what you do,your suppose to know. Small business
is not a big deal of the economy that they are saying,not any more.Big trash days
are down,people have to hold on to there stuff longer not by choice. No more credit
or jobs.
