I'm confuse
is that enough to switch 220vac line?
If the load is 7 amps or less, that is adequate. However, it would be best if the load was 3.5 amps or less.

What is the load connected to the relay contacts?

What is the relay model or did you buy the 12V 45Series that you previously described?

i would like to test first my 4017. I supplied 12v pin16 and gnd pin8.

I add component connect to gnd( red led and 1k resistor output 0 pin3) . Then another led and 1k resistor at output 1 pin 2. and another led and 1k at output2 pin4. enable and reset pin 13 and 15connect to gnd.

after i turned on my 12 rps. led output 0 lit but when i connect clock to 12v the led on output 0 still lit and output 1 no response. i tried to connect again clock to 12 still same output 0 lit but output 2 no response.

did i burn my 4017?

I'm switching by opening / closing 12v

The clock input is typically a square wave, not 12V dc. Without transistions, the 4017 will not shift from one output to the next.

Have you looked at the datasheet for the 4017B?

Why are you doing such a project for a charging unit?

i want to toggle the output from 0-9 whenever I push the button which is the clock. And the output will trigger a relay to switch on a cellphone charger.

I don't want the 10 different charger to switch on at the same time.

I want a schematic diagram with components to finish my project and at the same time I know how it works.

Are you saying you have 10 relays and 10 chargers?

Your drawing does not reflect you taking the clock signal to zero. It does show you removing the 12 V.

That will short out your 12 volt supply to ground when you press the switch. It will not advance the output from Q0 to Q1.

Did you simulate that circuit?
