Hey. I am designing an amplifier using collector emitter feedback bias. I am using a 2n5088 transistor, which has a minimum gain of 300 @ 1mA 5V Vce. I have Rc calculated to 3.6kOhm and Re calculated to 900 Ohm. How do I determine what value of Rb is needed?

 

Also when calculating the value of Re, should I have used the value of Ic given in the data sheet?

Maybe you post the schematic and tell us more about supply voltage, voltage gain etc.

But in general
Rb = ( Vcc - (Vbe+Ic*Re) / Ib

 

A circuit schematic will clear things up. Also, what are the specifications of your amplifier, like gain, input-output voltages range etc.
