I had made a audio amplifier and i am thinking to add headphone adapter in my amplifier output. my amplifier is stereo power amp,o/p power is 6watt in each channel and maximum current withdraw by power amp is 3 amp.


In order to make it,
I have to know about internal impedance of headphone and power need to drive headphone.

loudspeaker should off when headphone is plugged in.

how can i do that ?? discuss on it...

 

Headphones differ in impedance, but FWIW I believe an iPod has a 32 ohm output impedance. A std headphone jack provides a NC connection to divert the signal to the speakers when a headphone jack is not inserted.

but my power amp o/p is only 6W (max).
