i am building a circuit that uses a mechanical gate that will be opened by a solenoid. it will be opened by using the swithces on the 8051 microprocessor and then on the other side i am using a proximity switch to sense if anything is there and open if there is. Can anyone assist on the best route to take with this?

 

Software? Hardware/Mechanics? Schematics?

You can always start with a 3x4 or 4x4 keypad and a LCD to display the numbers that you have entered.

Looks for codes in www.8052.com and see if they are available.

The attached schematic is the wiring of the 89C51 with keypad and LCD.

everytime in the 8052.com website i click on one of the codes it tells me that it isnt found.
