I have an aircraft with a single transceiver connected to an intercom. The intercom is used for communicating with the passenger's headset. Both pilot and passenger can hear the receiver and they can both transmit using the push to talk.

I would like to add a second transceiver to the system and was wondering about a couple of things.

    1. Can I just hook up the second audio source to the audio in of the intercom or do I need some kind of circuit to do that? The idea is that I would be able to hear both radios if needed.

    2. As far as the transmit part goes can I just hook up a simple toggle switch to the push to talk line and the audio line of the microphone just before connecting to the intercom so I can select which radio transmits?

I do have an audio panel to do all this but space is pretty limited in this cockpit and I cant really fit it in unless I do some major mods.
