Hakko solder station help

I was given a Hakko 929 solder station base unit, but there is no iron or key card.

Does anyone know if an iron for any of the other Hakko stations will work with the 929? I searched and even emailed Hakko but got no answer.

Ebay sellers have them for a Hakko 907/936 station but don't know if it will work with a 929. The plug where it hooks to the base looks the same on the 907/936 and is the same voltage and watts.

Also is it possible to disable the lock/card function on these?

Can anyone help with answers about this? Thank you, Cary

I'm sure they will get back with you. You can always call them up.

Nice thing about Hakko is the detail in the manual (look at the last pages)

Although it would seem the card part number is not valid. Card is only used to change temp.
I would guess this would work

Other parts are there but you have to piece it together. It is going to get expensive to fix. You can get a used one for less on ebay or a new 936 for similar price. THe 929 looks like the tip, heater, and/or thermocouple are integrated together. The 936 or similar will have the tips seperate.

Good Luck.

Yes you can use a 900 iron or a 903 iron with the 929. The 900 is the standard iron that comes with the 936 etc... the 903 is the iron that comes with the 929/939. You can mix and match though. I also think you can get a keycard from hakko for cheap.

Thank you both for the answers! For some reason my computer freezes up on the Hakko site. I'll give them a call.
