Ok great, time to start investigating then! Gonna be a week or more before I can start trying things out but will update on here when I do. I love invasive if it's necessary. Nothing like a bunch of exposed wires all over the place to get my pulse racing. But would definitely be great if I can just find a spare transformer lying around. Thanks a lot!

 

Will I kill myself/burn the house down? I'm not fussed about the first but would rather not leave my partner with all the hassle of sorting out the insurance.
