Actually a few faults with a 630 gould DSO retrieved from a skip, (no doubt soon to return).
The crt only shows the right hand side of the display.The right hand side is perfect, instead of the left hand side there is a vertical line in the middle. My guess is the deflection coil is push pull driven, the pull bit is working, but the push bit isnt. Or something.
After a little while it beeps and locks up dead. The longer it has been on the shorter the time it takes for this to happen. Self calibration never finishes. And the IEC mains inlet filter blew up filling the room with smoke.
Anyone got a clue on this?, seems a shame to chuck it, but without a schematic its junk.
