Does anyone know how modern golf cart electronic speed controllers work? I have a 2003 cart that has an electronic control. My old cart had an accelerator pedal that worked by a stepping through a series of contacts that would put some very (physicially) large resistors in series with the motor to go slow or fast. The resistors were coils that were a couple of inches in diameter and would put out a lot of heat at slow speeds. The newer cart has a relatively small box that I am guessing may use PWM and some fairly hefty transistors?
