Replacing old 3/4 hp 115v motor on boat lift with new 1.5 hp 115v wired to GE up/down switch.Switch has 4 wire to motor, white & green are down, black & red are up.Motor has 7 wires, white, orange & red are twisted together & black & yellow are together, brown & purple are by themselves.Would appreciate any help or a diagram on wiring this.

If you have 7 conductors then chances are this is a dual (120V/240V) capacitor start motor. For 120V operation you will have 2 (120V) field windings (Stators) wired in parallel. To reverse this kind of motor you only need to swap the polarity of the Start winding. The Start winding exhibits a much higher DC resistance than the Run windings and it also has the start switch and start cap in series with it, so it's not hard to identify it.
