Hi all, I could use some help.

I have a Garrison "backup power" UPS 1800W , 011-1818-4. Something fell on it and a SMD component burnt so badly I can't identify it. I suspect it to be a bipolar transistor. If anyone has this UPS I would appreciate if this person could take a picture of that component and the surrounding traces.

It would make a repair much easier :) Otherwise some reverse engineering is due.

Similar UPS were sold by Xantrex, Duracell, Schneider Electric.

There is other components burnt but they can mostly be identified.

Thanks!

That's the unit.

Was it the 3pin voltage regulator? There seems to be 12v coming into that PCB, and 5v ICs etc so maybe it was a 5v regulator.

No, I don't have the PCB in front of me but the 5V regulator seems to be the TO-220 7805 on the other side of the board (last pic).

Anyway, the person who gave me this probably wants to have it back. Too bad, I really would have wanted to make this work again.
