im in the uk ive designed a few electrical items which i want to sell just wondering if anybody has any experience gaining a CE mark, and could give my any advice please.

Hope you've got plenty of money $$$..

CE is basically self certified.. BUT you better have data/testing to back it up..

The manufacturer must carry out a conformity assessment, set up a technical file and sign an EC declaration of conformity. The documentation has to be made available to authorities on request.

 

With a little looking around, you should be able to find a conveniently situated testing lab that can handle all the details. From such a search less than two years ago, it seemed that some labs in Hong Kong had the best prices for the kind of testing we needed.
