do you mean to say that the capacitor is in the feedback path?

The datasheet for the LM386 little power amplifier explains how the capacitor increases the gain. The datasheet shows the simple schematic for the amplifier and you can see that it shorts an internal resistor that is part of negative feedback.

 

If the capacitor being reffered to is between 1 and 8 Pins, then it is to control the Gain of the Amplifier​
