Hi Everyone thanks for taking time to look at my thread.

I am currently working on a project at university for my final degree project.

The design requires a g-force meter to activate a solenoid when a force of a certain value is reached puncturing a co2 canister and inflating a vest.

If you have any ideas of what sort of circuitry i may need to do this i will be very thankful. As this not being my specialist area can you please be as descriptive as possible

This might or might not fit the bill: Use a weight and a spring. When the weight is subject to sufficient acceleration (G's) it will touch a contact, causing a latching circuit such as an SCR or a relay wired to latch on, and that can drive the solenoid.
