How do you make a simple radio frequency.
what's your preference? AM or FM
Any frequency that is coupled into a resonant structure will radiate electromagnetic waves through space. All you have to do is come up with an oscillator and a means of modulating the output.
The hardest thing is not making a Radio frequency (Signal), but making it Stable.
There are some nice simple AM or FM bug style kitsets out there that are cheap, and safe to experiment with. Suggest you pop into you nearest Radio Shack/ Jaycar/ Dick Smith/ Maplin or whoever you local electronics hobbiest store is, and check for a kitset that you can play with.
I would say , use a kit for now, becuase you dont wanna creat a frequency that will interface with other frequecies out there or some one will nock on your door (FCC)
Hajajm has a good point. Years ago, we came up on a frequency that was a tertiary back-up for a shuttle launch. Uncle Charlie (the FCC) was in the door - at a secret clearance only site - within 20 minutes to tell us to shut down. He's not nice.
