I've known for some time that MIT published a lot of their old classes including lectures and all course work. Stanford has done something similar. I found one site that has compiled all the free online classes (they are pretty detailed and look like they are very much worth while) from about 40 US colleges, many from India (english speaking) and some from other schools globally (UK, AUS, NZ, Germany, etc)

There are a lot of classes starting on 3/13 and 3/20 so there is time to sign up if you want to participate. You can "take" the class after but it wouldn't be the same as getting the certificate with the class.
