For this application, ARM? PIC? FPGA? DSP?

Dear ALL

For my current project, I am using PIC. It is too expensive, however. Therefore I am thinking to change it into other chips.

BTW, I dont understand why PIC(dsPIC33) is this expensive, since ARM has higher speed and similar peripherals!

Here is the description of the project:
Read DATA from 18 bit ADC via SPI around 100ksps.
Do control algorithm, basically division, multiplication (PID).
Output DATA with 18 bit DAC via SPI, around 32ksps.

Could I have any suggestion on what kind of processor to use?
On aspect of cost, easy to make PCB.
