fluke 27fm meter

I picked up one at local auction today. Made a long journey through manual to see how far I might want to go. There are thirteen steps of disassembly and two steps to reattach the digital interface. The basic power up and troubleshooting tests for "blank display" are for the crystal clock, the reference voltage regulator, and a middle voltage at the digital interface. Fluke lists "possible faulty components" in most of these steps as the main analog ic chip. Just wondering if anybody has worked on these. Thanks.
