Max , we have a few Florida members as far as coast stories we have more in common. I was at a town just before Aplachicola,I needed gas so Aplachicola looked like a big town on the map,so I went for it...got there to find no gas, almost on empty. I went to the police dept and ask for a few gallons to get me to the next station. They said no,get a hotel room for the night, the hotel was a big house with a wrap around porch. I rang for the manager,no one else around. I paid for a room and the manager took me to the second floor and showed me the room. I walked my family to the second floor room, looked inside. I said no way am I staying trapped in a room not seeing a person around, the room was dark and dingy. So we went down and slept on the porch. The next morning I went out side and saw a shimping fleet...that I had not seen in the dark. The first time you see a fleet of shimps boats all lined up...that is something else. Fueled up and left town with a story of mixed memories.
Oh yah they net the grassbeds at night.Actualy good fishing if you trail em a half mile. But I live in prime shrimp territory so I'm used to seeing them. As far as hotels you lucked out. We paid $100+ for a room in DC where prostitutes knocked on your door.
Was that during the police memorial celebration last month when all those police officers were in DC?
Remember Riaff brother is a policeman, that what keeps him safe, the policeman and his mom that like to picket, by herself not afraid of anything. Its her Island.
