hi all
i seem to be encountering more and more of those very flat ribbon link cables that dont have a plug on the ends, a common one is marked AWM 20798

they seem to need terific force to insert, by which time the delicate cable is usually ruined.

i would appreciate any tips and source info.
and does this type of cable have a name?

many thanks

Most of the connectors have some sort of open/release mechasnism.

There are several styles, with some the 'ears' at either end pull up slightly to release, with others the side may hinge along it's full length.

And there are some that just push in..

If it seems to take exessive force, there is a fair chance it has a release of some sort.
