feasability of power invertee working as regen-brake battery charger

Hopefully I am posting in the right forum;
Anyway,I have an electric scooter that is needing-badly-a
regnerative braking circuit to be switched by the brake switch then
relay to actuate the circuit
The problem is could I use a ready made power inverter that puts out 150 watts CONTINUOUS;and if so,how would be the best way to step the voltage down to that of the batteries(the power inverter will put a modified sine wave
of 110 volts,when 12-15 volts is input;battery pack is 24 volts)????:confused:
Any helpful tips suggestions greatly appreciated!!

Do you have any information on the motor and what kind of voltage/current it puts out when generating? It might be possible to simply feed the motor's output to the batteries for regenerative braking.

As far as the motor voltage output goes,I don't know-I do know it takes 24 volts,and has 20 amp maximum current consumption,but haven't been able to test the motors output
since it would require possibly a motor powered treadmill or something similar.

The battery should be enough load to keep the motor output from going too high, and the motor can hardly generate more current than it consumes at a give speed. You might want to do some research, of course, but the inverter/charger step seems unnecessary.
