Whats your favorite resistor value?

I like the 470 ohm 1/4w

 

I tend to focus on the 100Ω series, with 1KΩ being the top hitter, ¼W being the usual run of the mill, check this out.

 

Thats a nice way to store parts.
I will have to get one of those sealers if I see one.

 

You almost have to special order them. Office supply houses might have them, as will Grainger or any other industrial outlet. I like Harbor Freight because of their prices, but Lord help you if you ever need customer service.

 

We used to have several 1 ohm 120 watt resistors where I worked. Best load resistors imaginable.

For appearance, we also had a drawer full of wirewound precision resistors. All some odd value (27,330 ohms, and so on). Lots of different shapes and colors. Utterly worthless for any project.
