Fast photodetector sensitivity

Hi everyone,

I am trying to decide on a photodetector to purchase, could anyone share their insight ?

My criteria are: frequency cutoff of 1Ghz at least, operating in the visible (around 400-500nm), and the best sensitivity possible.

I was thinking of a Si APD. For instance Hamamatsu has an APD module (C5658) which could do the job in terms of speed and wavelength. Also, Newport has an amplified photodetector (AD-200) with sufficient speed and wavelength range. But I have no clue how to compare the sensitivity of both detectors. They are stated in different units which I don't know how to compare.

Does anyone know if one of the two is more sensitive, or if another company would offer a better product ?
