Hi! anyone tried SMS controlled microcontroller? Like this one from the link: http://www.timzaman.nl/?p=47&lang=en

I tried connecting RX cable and the TX pin of PIC16F877A. But I can't make it work.

The cable I used was the USB data cable of T68i phone. I cut it and found 4 wires inside of it. Red, Black, Blue and White. I tried swapping Blue and White cables but still no good.

Can you help me out? Thanks in advance for the suggestion.

With no common ground, I don't see how it could possibly work. Do you have a cable that connects to the correct pins on the phone? USB is not at all compatible with your serial data transfer. Signaling is not the same.

Hi beenthere, thanks for replying, yeah of course gnd was there. I am now able to send messages. I just forgot to give the phone a load to text. I used the wires that are directly connected to the phone, not the wires for the USB port. The left problem is reading the messages stored on the phone. There are many pins left, I don't know how to use them. Can you help me how to hook the other wires?
