Can anybody suggest me the equivalent for DS3634N IC, its a dual peripheral driver 8 pin IC
DS3634N is a CMOS version of SN75454B dual peripheral driver (NOR gate).
Another possible replacement is SN75479 but it does not exist, as far as I can tell.
What is your application? Is this a new build or a repair?
Do you have a circuit schematic?

Hi Thanks for your kind reply, the thing is this SN75454 or SN75479 are with 5V VCC where as the DS3634N we were using VCC 15V DC.

This is for repairing and we are using them in our old design board.

I would be grateful if you can help me on this.

What are you repairing? Can you post a photo of the overall board and another photo of the area where the DS3634N sits?
Maybe you may be able a patch in a small PCB with a replacement circuit.

Thanks for the response, I have checked and compared all the pins with DSO, all looks OK. But the thing is the IC with white strip works alright where as the IC without strip gives heating.

yes you are right the IC's which are heating up are counterfeit or the dodgy ones.

I don't know if you can get a definitive answer to that. The white strip IC looks to me to be more like the original National part, but pretty much anything can be printed on the IC. I think that your best bet if you want only a drop in replacement, and you already have seen that some will work, would be to find a dealer that has some old National parts...like this one appears to have...http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-pcs-Natio...944172?hash=item2597b3f8ac:g:WPgAAOSw8cNURw9H

If you look at the posted specs in the add, you see...
V(IL) Max.(V)Lo Level In.Volt.=2.5
V(IH) Min.(V)Hi Level In.Volt.=12.5
Nom. Supp (V)=15

which seem to be the values that you want.

Finally, you could simply write the seller and ask if they are actually National Semiconductor parts or some kind of remake.
