Encoder PCB simple question connection

Hello everyone,

I am going to use for a project a magnetic encoder, and now I am designing the schematic to later get the PCB manufactured. My question is pretty simple, since I am not familiar at all in PCB design or schematics. The Quadrature A and B pins and index have to be connected to the controller, but do I have to connect them also to a pin header or something? So I can directly measure their outputs if I need it, without passing through the controller. Sorry for my english, I might be not good sometimes.

Thank you very much in advance.

If I understand correctly one option may be to put some test points on the PCB, however if the encoder is not mounted directly on the PCB it is probably a good idea to use a header then you can remove the encoder or PCB without de-soldering.
