I just wondered what the state of the UK Electronics industry was like.

Does anyone know major companies and also any statistics or value on the value of the SMEs?

Is there any IC or uController Manufacturers?

Where do we source our raw materials?

Any information regarding the UK electronics industry will be helpful. This is a broad and general question so any info generally related will be of interest.

Also any electrical or electronic engineering industries such as control etc will also be of interest so any info really, feel free to share anything at all that you think may be of interest.

I used to work for Innovative Technologies in Oldham. (currency equipment)

Is there any IC or uController Manufacturers?

Zetex is/was located around the Manchester/Oldham area, I dont know if they are still there. Ferranti I believe also had a plant near there.

 

I think,As electronic industrial company,there is a lot of in the uk,but I don't know everyone of idea,snecma connectors manufacturer is a electronic industrial of high performance connectors
