electronic switch for a PC line

Hi,

what would be the easiest way to shorten the reset lines of a PC board? I have a small Microcontroller (probably Tiny13) and would prefer a solution where the user can install the reset switch replacement and not watch out for polarity ... though, if the space saving on the circuit would be large enough (or, the added space for something like a relay and possibly additional HW like FW-diode) is so big that additional care while installing would outweigh the downside of measuring while installing.

Using the controller output directly is probably not a good idea ... I know I can get micro relays which are about the size of a 8pin DIP. Though, they would require either a driver chip or at least a free wheeling diode I recon.

What other possibilities are there, both non-polarity aware and polarity aware?
