I ´m making an electronic project that consists in activating a switch that it´s activated by a sound, like the action of clapping your hands, but i had been reading about the electret microphones and i found that sometimes this electronic componentes gave you some problems, my question is:

Does anyone knows a way or tecnique to test microphones and check this things don´t had any problem, i don´t know maybe turning up a LED or something?

 

Many PCs have a powered microphone input sockets suitable for electret microphones.

It may be best to start by using a known good microphone to check that the PC input is working.

Then when you know that you have a PC with a working microphone input, use that to test your other microphones.
