I need to get 17v. Ages ago I remember using 1.5v and a transformer to light an LED. But only for an instant.
Is there a way to configure this to constant power from a step up?

 

What's the power source?

If you already have a motor, why do you want to make one?

 

is there a schematic I can use double/triple/quad the volts and amps from 12vDC to 36v 48v 300v DC.
I mean whats possible here that I can aim for.
I want to try and make an electric motor just for fun
I have a tredmill motor i want to use the shaft and case to make my own DC motor

or do they already make something thats cheap?

Voltage multipliers are normally special types of rectifier circuits which produce a higher DC output voltage from a given AC supply than would normally be available.
To do something like that with DC you would need a switch mode DC-DC inverter.

BUT,here's the biggie!

Your original source produces a set amount of power,where power = current times voltage or P=I*V.
This means that,for the same power into your multiplier,if for instance,you double the voltage out, you get half the current out.

 

What comes out is Always less than what goes in!!

You dont get "owt for nowt" as we say in England.

 

Due to the law of Conservation of Energy you cannot increase both voltage and current simultaneously. Power OUT = Power IN (minus losses).
