I just noticed that when I added one of my NPE1400 devices to the schematic, it does not automatically number, e.g. U1. How do I fix that?

there is only one command for that - "name" check your layers again and make sure that one is highlighted. It's number 94 or 95 in the menu. Also make sure the color selected for that layer is not the same as the background color


Something else most people wonder about, is "Where are the device power pins on the schematic?"

Use the ERC button in the schematic editor frequently, and the DRC button in the board editor. Some of the ICs have pads with holes that are too small (under 0.030").
